This is 1968 Firebird number 2.
This Firebird belonged to Mike Ward back in the 80’s, he and Michael Frye had headed off to NSU for some schoolin in 86 and I caught up with these two guys in the spring. We all ended up running around together drag racing around town and down at the Illinois River that semester of college. Mr. Ward went out of state the next semester and retired the car in Homer Wards shop, his dad. Some 20 years later after it was determined the car would be sold; I was able to acquire the rolling chassis.
I have been rebuilding the drive train to as close as possible to the way Ward ran it 20 years ago, I have also left the interior intact minus the rotten carpet.
